I have only had rechargeable ones. One charge lasts 22 hours. The initial cost was an additional $350. Over the life of the aids I would have spent a similar amount on batteries. I cant imagine dealing with the hassle of disposable batteries. The small charger is no big deal to travel with. Occasionally I travel off the grid and use Milwaukee M18 batteries via USB to charge them (phone too).
