The metal pig-tail posts are really nice if you're walking a fence into position. You can hold a dozen of them in your fist without any effort. By contrast, the same number of plastic posts are a very unwieldly armful, and are difficult to place while walking.

I'm using the Gallagher pig-tails(ring-top). I bought the lighter gauge version, but wish I had gone with the heaviest gauge post they offer. In hard ground, the lightweight ones tend to bend.
