You don’t want to water them very much early or they will grow tall and lodge. You don’t necessarily need tall beans to yield.
That being said, when they turn blue at any stage from being dry I have found it best to give them some water to keep them growing.



A few years ago, maybe 2015?, June was hot and dry. Beans looked pretty droopy in the afternoons, but not really "blue"

Some guys ran pivots and others didn't. Then we had a few decent rains in July and August. There were fields where corners made more than the circles.

If they look ok in the mornings in June, I sure wouldn't water them.
