Subject: RE: Iowa drought?

Northwest IL Jo Daviess Co
We had a damaging frost 13 days ago, and a few day before we had frost 5 mornings in a row. No exaggeration - if it weren't for 30 inches of snow, we would have nothing here. I am on very bad hilly ground west of stockton - rocks and timber soil. When the rocks heat up, the ground stays hot for several hours after the sun sets. Continuing to cook the crop. I am not the most experienced farmer I will admit that, but I do know my land and conditions well. It has cost real money to learn those lessons.
