SE Wisconsin | Dust collection sounds like it may be a priority. Containing it at the source would solve a lot of the problems.
I put together a thein pre-seperator/barrel/shopvac setup, with shrouds and guards to attach hoses to. It eliminates 90% of dust created. The remainder is tolerable without tracking it all over from the shop and through the house. Plus all that is cheap, or made in the shop, without expensive dust collectors, piping etc.
