With the big dry here in ND, is winter wheat straw going to be worth anything? I have no critters. I have 100 ac of winter wheat that is starting to head out. Not impressive straw, be lucky if it’s waist high headed out. I was thinking if a guy gets it combined, maybe bale the straw, I could plant some sort of forage crop if there is any moisture left........

Dunno - - - - if it stays even somewhat dry that straw will have value.
Now - - -how much - - - - that's the big question.
This is a very much 'not looking good' kind of a season - - - - especially at this point.

If you know a 'cow' guy more locally to you - - - - good question for them.
Would also depend upon your soil health - - - if your organic matter is getting low there is value in just getting that straw back into the ground too.

Sorry - - - - I'm likely zip all help.
I have fed cows a straw, 6# barley and a 1.5# 32% protein (w rumensin) supplement and they did quite well on it so if needed I would do it again!!!!!!!!!!!
