There has to be a way to work out the regulatory issues post patent, after all, chemicals and drugs are regulated and we have generic versions of them post patent.
Moreover, the term the USDA uses once it says a GMO is okay for farmers to grow is "deregulated."
So if RR1 soybeans have been "deregulated" for several years already they should stay that way.
