I understand that completely. Really works for you and that's casual---Makes sense. If the landlord understands farming--everything is great, they pay for it. You still have to make a crop on rented ground.
I hate to say, but some landlords need some deductions on the Fed end. Some can't understand why Dad's ground cost's them so much.
