Dynamite in dam does the trick also. I do a lot of beaver dam-age work. Gotta get the lodge out though, otherwise they will plug the dam in a day. A pitchfork will help, but also found pulling a couple of key logs out will open things up pretty good. For those without dynamite, Tannerite is a fun way to break up dams.
