North West IA/western AZ | Welcome Jessie. I had my own grinder mixer as I started to expand was thinking about doing the same as what you are thinking. I thought a stationary roller would be the best way to go and then you would need a mixer on a scale and small bins with ingredients and augers to deliver to the mixer. Then you would need a feed truck to transfer the rations to the building site.
I decided the local coop already had all this equipment and paid them to deliver the feed. I had to trust them to use quality corn and get the mix right(which they screwed up big time for a while). All in all, i was satisfied and didn't have a feed setup to sell when I retired. Think it over and do what you can afford. | |
