Third vote for Reliance high compression kit. Have you head redone and make sure they deck it to maximum spec valve protrusion. Install new OEM or rebuilt fuel injectors. (Not Chinese replacements) Install a gear reduction starter and switch to 2- 12 volt batteries. It will be a whole new tractor after that.

I personally don't like to plane anymore off a head than necessary to true it up. Use new valves, and new seats to get it to spec. if necessary. You can even get seats that are longer than OEM if necessary to get your valve recession/ protrusion in spec.

There is only so much metal you can plane off a head until it's junk. Don't waste your head by shaving more off of it than necessary to true it up.

My advice, anyway. That's how we do it.

Thinner surfaces are more likely to warp and or crack than a thick one. Especially when dealing with compression, heat of combustion and cool water nearby in the water jackets. Decking the heads and block weakenste castings. Ten thousandths true things up is one thing but planning excessively to raise the compression ratio is not what I would not reccomend in a diesel tractor engine.
