If you have never done a 4230 here’s is what I would recommend for an overhaul if you want it to last a long time. Reliance or Deere high compression kit. Head done by a shop that knows what the valve height should be, probably doesn’t matter where the parts come from as Deere doesn’t make these themselves anyway. Next would be to resize the big end of the rod and install new bushings on the small end, another project for the machine shop. Check the oil pump drive gear on the cam if it has a lot of hours may need to be replaced along with the oil pump drive gear, early cams had soft gears.
