+1, maybe, in central il/Iowa latitude and south but not north of I80 for sure. Very little heat units after mid Sept here. And then the other thing to confound the OP is go and put rye on that same field and it very likely will immobilize any N the clover cover crop sheds just like it's doing to manure applications in some early studies here.


Here we can maybe get 80 lbs of N out of clover frost seeded into wheat. I would say anyone claiming more or claiming decent credits from covers planted AFTER wheat are just doing a WAG. I'm a data guy, show me the response curves from multi year trials.
