Hi Scott,

I received your email and will respond in more depth when I get to Maryland.... currently on the road.

The key to fixing a significant amount of N is providing legume CCs with more time to grow and enough sunlight for N fixation, a very energy intensive process.

Options include legume CCs planted following small grains or other early harvested crops, legume CCs growing in solar corridors between summer crops and legume CCs planted in the spring or fall but allowed to continue growing after a summer crop is planted.
