West Central Illinois | A # of reasons, not wanting to spook up all the big bucks by shooting does and dragging them out of the woods, out of state hunters from out east don't like eating deer all that well, the list goes on. Cash is king in the deer hunting business around here, I like deer hunting and would never consider leasing out a place but I see why some are tempted to it. There are several 160 acre places i know of in our township that lease for $15,000 annually. That's not guided or anything, that's just for permission to hunt it. The hunting lease on good rough ground pays more than the tillable in a lot of cases. | |
