Subject: Tales on the river

Here are a few "first".

1. Having a barge wake push water into the cleaning fan. That got ugly in a hurry.

2. You are all alone at night, no one in sight and a tow comes up in your blind spot, next thing the whole combine lights up from their spotlight.

3. You are told to go to the end the last field on this side of the river and there will be an opening "We cross all the time". Water comes in the cab of a 230 Spra Coup before you get across.

4. You only cut the beans above water.

5. You only shell the corn above water.

6. Progress is measured by how many tractors, size of chains needed and number of pulls needed to remove item from Mother Earth.

7. You keep trucks on paved roads as the gravel roads have give way. There is some question as to how much longer grain carts can use them.

8. My all time favorite game. Minefield. After the freeze, there will be soft spots in the field. You will be running along and the ground will just fall out from under you. Combine looks likes it is walking across the field.

9. An I the only one that had grain freeze in the cart or wagon?

Tim
