Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums. | I would do that in a heartbeat in order to get the crop out. Don't see it as abuse either. I actually think it would better stewardship than leaving your crop in the field. You would die if you saw us harvesting broccoli today after 4 inches of rain in a conventional field. We are pulling trucks from the quick hitch hook to get the front end off the ground prevent dragging. We have to get 12 pallets out on every load. We are picking 7000 boxes a day and we will go through the field and get it out no matter what, period. Why would you let $75000 bucks sit in the field over a muddy tractor? Even if you did have to drain the finals and fix a few bearings? Tractors are disposable and crops are perishable. Better get when the gettin's good. Guess I better take the camera tomorrow.
But doesn't the corn in the cart get wet at the bottom? Will it still flow out of the sump? |
