Like Festus better. Chester seemed pretty useless as a deputy. Don’t think I ever saw him shoot at anything.
I remember Chester after he left Gun smoke. He was guest staring on the red Skelton show, where he came off of left stage, limping and calling for Marshal Dillon, half way across the stage he sat down, pulled a boot off, dumped out a rock, put the boot back on, then continued across the stage without a limp. All those years of limping pain because of a dang rock in the boot ;-)
