| Last summer my daughter and I made a coop as her hen flock had outgrown her little (similar to yours) store bought coop. Everything except 10 2x4 roof boards was used material dug up from around the neighborhood. We took over a month to build it at work while mixing feed or an hour in the evenings. Best part was her helping drive screws, measure where to cut etc. we have yet to get a door built for it and have had no issues from that other than freezing water, but the chickens don’t roam the whole yard the are penned.
