I don’t disagree but what you say doesn’t change anything. Yes, we will all die be it today, tomorrow, or thirty years from now. In the past even knowing that very unavoidable fact, we as a society have always taken precautions and done what we can to treat illness or injury and stop the spread of disease. Why is Covid all of a sudden different? Guys that have been trying to deny and downplay for the last 14 months, now just shrug their shoulders and say “gotta die from something “. What makes Covid different from cancer or heart disease, or even a serious injury? I wholeheartedly agree that we can only take so many practical precautions and that the Grim Reaper will one day catch up with us all. Thanks for a logical and civilized discussion.

The people that you think are treating covid differently are actually treating it the same as people did with other past health issues. People have always followed different approaches. There have always been people who just shrug their shoulders and say “gotta die from something”. It’s that way with smoking, eating crap food, etc, etc. Every one of us likely know someone who doesn’t look after their health the way we think they should.

The people who ARE acting differently with the covid virus are those who expect, maybe demand is a more appropriate word, that others do exactly as they are. It is those most fearful of the virus that are acting different, not those less fearful. The less fearful are doing whatever they think is best for themselves and allowing others to do whatever they think is best. That was normal in the past.

So you are right, there is a segment of the population that treats covid very different, but it is not who you think.
