Texas Panhandle | So after reading this all thru, it looks like the only reason to stick with debit cards is "so I don't have to pay late fees" and because it "helps me manage my finances better". Something like that.
I didn't know if there were some other benefits or what but it would appear not. As some have already said, we're paying for the privilege of using a credit card whether we do or not.
There's no paranoia about debit cards, they are simply a risk, whereas you are slightly better covered by a credit card against fraud.
As for the occasional late fee and interest, they don't even compare to the free flights we've received from Southwest by using points and the companion pass over the last year. Granted they handed out extra because of covid but I sure wouldn't have got it with a debit card!
Oh and 75% of the time they waive the late fees and interest if it's not a frequent happening... | |
