Central South Dakota | If you have white mold problems in soybeans, you'll get your clock cleaned in sunflowers. Sunflowers are a droughty crop, too much rain at the wrong time can kill yield potential. We shoot for 3000# flowers here and that's in a 18" annual rainfall area. Got close to 30" of rain on our flowers back in 2019 with a couple of 2+ inch rain events after they had flowered and it just killed the yield. 1600# flowers. | |
