| Yes, those of us in fly-over country have been raised to not think of the people in charge - including government - as the enemy. It has been a struggle for me to fully realize how bad it has gotten. How you can't believe a single thing you hear from many of these people. Unfortunately, I have come to the realization that corruption isn't so much a feature of our system as it is that corruption IS THE SYSTEM.
And, I'm sorry to say - this realization leaves me feeling a whole lot worse than I did when I was younger. | |
