Was in that  process of cloning when this happened.

Also have some external storage drives but have been a bit lax in backing up to those.

I also have had issues in the past with some of them.

They have software that is supposed to back everything up but that does not seem to cover programs add ons settings and all the other fine details that cloning a drive does.

As far as cloud backups encrypted or not I just don't trust them as you have no idea who has access to them and where they are physically located. Also with such a slower connection it would take an eternity to upload anything. 3Mbps download that is usually only half of that and only around a .5Mbps upload speeds at best. Simply can't have something like that hogging the connection all the time. Windows updates are bad enough.

I'd prefer something on site like a RAID setup that keeps the critical stuff backed up continuously while continuing to clone the drive more frequently to capture more subtle changes in programs tweaks and settings.
