Haha! You must be like I am. I want things to be square! I helped my daughter build a cedar log bench for 4h. I was not happy because it really can't be symmetrical and square due to the varying diameters of the logs. I also had to cut a 5 foot log in half the long way with a chainsaw, and of course I didn't get that perfectly straight either. Well, it got a purple at the county fair and a blue at the "virtual" state fair! I was happy for her, but now I get to look at that crooked thing every time I sit in my recliner!!
The house looks beautiful by the way.
Nice work on the bench! Ya working with logs is not for me. That taper makes you really have to think to get things lined up for the next course. We went 10 courses high and luck would have it all 4 corners were within 1/2” on height so I can live with that! I just prefer working with metal, it’s straight and the dimensions are exact. Thank you!
