I really don’t know what to say, but give it a day or two to think it through?
Here the rye would still grow, but it would be a lot thinner. We used to plant oats into cornstalks and run the disk over it, but it was a lot lighter disk than your friend used, I would wild donkey guess the seed got half buried too deep?
Certainly very frustrating no matter what which way.
