Red Paint - 9/18/2020 Just not sure how a board full of farmers who constantly complain about regulation are so adament about not just regulation, but mandating that somebody else buy their product. That seems like a tenet of a centrally-planned economy if there ever was one. I wish we could remove the mandate too. But look how powerful the oil lobby is. There is no level playing field for other products to compete with oil. Do you remember the MTBE issues? Gas requires an oxygenate correct? The oil companies are too happy to provide an oxy chemical of their own which is good for them, but bad for us and the environment. I'm not sure how you as a farmer would be against using a renewable resource which we can grow and have it be helpful for the environment, as well being very safe for us (unless you drink it), and still get the many other by-products from it's production. What happens if we can start using it in diesel engines soon. Will you still be against it? |
