Totally depends on the time frame and what paramaters you are looking at. Six weeks and immediate income - no. Six months and erosion control -yes. Six months and increased soil tilth - yes. Six months and improved soil structure - yes. Twelve months and improved soil structure.- priceless, but remember the income will come from small improvements in the next several crops.

Cover crops are a medium to long term investment which can improve the short term return on the on the other essential inputs.
