 Leesburg, Ohio | Leaving a seldom-used quick hitch mounted to the 3-point is just asking for damage to any towed implement, especially one with a PTO, as you have found out.
At the very minimum, remove the quick hitch from the 3-point hitch arms. The arms themselves will do far less damage to any towed implement, since they can usually swing out of the way if they contact the towed implement, and can usually be lowered so they clear underneath the tongue.
Mitchco has the best answer: remove the entire 3-point hitch if its never used anyway. | |
