I think the late 40's would be way better than the early 40's
For sure WW 11 was no picnic....Dad said around 1949 corn was $2.50 and then they started growing soys too..........I think maybe mid 60's was best for farming , land still fairly reasonable, equipment had improved a lot and farms started to have all the convniences that city folk had
