Glasgow, Ky | The 60's were pretty turbulent but I don't think farm life was affected that much by it. The Vietnam war probably a bigger issue on the farm as the civil rights unrest was pretty well limited to the cities. The war was an issue as many sons were eligible for the draft and possibly going to fight a war few felt was justified.
Life was just simpler then. There were many smaller farmers who would not rent ground out from under another farmer no matter what. Less arrogance and greed than exists today.
