My NH has these chains, this pic isn’t the best, they attach to the inside of the lower link pegs, and you put them on the top link of the tractor. Adjusted right, they carry the three point mower when you let it down. They limit the mower from going too low, as well as generally carrying the weight of the mower.
Probably wouldn’t help you if you had the mower lifted up, but for the bulk of time running across the field, the chains carry the weight and shift the weight to the top link of the tractor, not on the three point rock shafts or hydraulics.
I don’t know if Green is the same type of setup.
