n.c.iowa | I’ve been a ford guy since I was a young pup, dad had a couple chevys around in the 80’s, they were okay I guess, but fords always seemed to pull their weight around here.
so a few years back Wifey was wanting a new vehicle( her Pacifica had almost 300k miles on it and was getting alittle long in the tooth), so with the Pacifica in mind we were kinda looking at Chrysler products, jeep, mini vans, in addition to some foreign SUV’s. Wife didn’t want a minivan, had some other “conditions” on the potential new ride.
i was at our local ford/Chrysler dealership one day, and was discussing my dilemma with a local salesman. He said, “Why don’t you get her to try out a new ram half ton, they’ve got some pretty good incentives“. So I got her into one and as they say the rest is history. she loves the thing, it’s got the 5.7 hemI and long term mileage hand calculated in her work miles bounces between 18-19 mpg.
don't kid yourself though, it won’t even get close to that pulling a 25’ Camper or nh3 tanks, but it’ll pull that stuff as fast as you want to drive.
the only issues we've had is A exhaust leak, most likely caused by broken off manifold bolts. |
