Subject: FM 750 firmware update issues

Where Lewis and Clark finished the rum
Was running FM 750 with field IQ for last couple years. Wanted to upgrade to VRA (variable rate application) this spring, but had some spraying to do before that. Had not cleaned data over the winter, so got a "memory full" warning. Checked memory and had 11 hours left, BUT within about an hour, the 750 powered off spontaneously and then powered back on. Work done not only in the last hour or two, but also the ?Day before?? not sure was GONE. Got re-situated and sprayed just a little bit more. The 750 got into "reset loop" - it would power on, but not finish POST before resetting again. Tried soft reset, but couldn't get soft reset to work, so resorted to HARD reset. Luckily, I had dumped fields a few days earlier in preparation for firmware upgrade to run VRA, so hard reset only lost a few days worth of data. HOWEVER, I now have several problems:

1 - tried to restore a couple fields after the hard reset and 750 hangs at "Importing data from USB" . I've copied files to several USBs, reformatted USBs to FAT, FAT32, NTFS (doesn't recognize files on this format), but the farthest I've been able to get is 46% of ONE field before machine locks up.

2 - So, I thought OK, let's upgrade firmware. Was at 1.19 or 1.9, can't remember, but tried to move to 2.x (incremental firmware upgrades) and it seems to hang at "erasing old firmware". Local Trimble dealer says i need a new screen - REALLY?

2a - When downloading firmware, I see the incremental steps strategy, and was trying to follow but it appears TriangleAg https://www.triangleag.com/cfx-750-support/ and GreenFieldAg https://greenfieldag.com/?page_id=1065 skip from either 2.x to 5.x or 3.x to 5.x, I think. Was in a rush before rain, but mother nature caught up to me overnight. I have a brief window today before next rains :o((

Looking for direction.
