White Stone, Virginia | I shot one out of a tree one day. He was hanging from his hind legs like a possum eating berries. Unfortunately for him I was returning from shooting sportingclays so i loaded him up with 8 shot! i never knew they could climb trees. I trapped another one in my sweetcorn patch with a 2020 conibear, but he got his front leg through the trap with his head so it caught him across the shoulders. He was one angry hog! Flailed around on the chain (I had learned to anchor the traps by then). He flattened a square yard of corn and was pissed when I picked him up and carried him back to the barn to get my 22. Those big bull hogs are heavy! I didn't want him getting too close to me with those back legs! | |
