| Usually I'd roll my eyes as a hog producer hearing cattle guys complaining about their market, but the last few weeks was really weird. I don't know if everyone and the dog wanted to pull fats forward and that's what tanked live bids or if there was something shady behind doors going on? Same with right after the fire. Pretty shocking imo that hog kills were sky high and still got a slight increase in cash bids recently, but cattle did opposite when under the same circumstances. Then the $5 from Tyson, that just screamed hush money if you ask me. Then Ethan lane goes on CNBC and gets asked why cattle producers need money when beef demand is through the roof. Every single on of us knows the packers got the gold mine and the producer got the shaft, but he wouldn't even hint at that. | |
