| Monsanto is very good at extracting value from the marketplace. They will take each cent they think we will give. We traded ease of control for money. It is easier. Only four chems on the farm this year. RU, Atrazine, Classic and 2, 4 D. I don't miss those cocktails from the 80s. Everything including the dish washing soap in the tank....................
The new RU bean from Monsanto is going to be priced for its "value". Given the yields we have been seeing and the market price of beans, $100 per bag is not that far off. Never believed I would see the day. Don't think it will be this year or even the next..............But they got 60 on some this year and the new ones increase revenue by 70 to 80 bucks per acre. I expect M will take their "fair" share of that increase.
Glad to hear that RU price in the 10s. Funny, M can't keep the patent on the chem, but they have the seed. Go figure...............
