I think if you sprayed it on using regular tips, then yes an awful lot would be tied up. Using the streamers puts in in bands, and there is just too much nitrogen in that band to be tied up. I put down 50# actual N last year in bands, and had some DC milo go over 80 bu/ac, following 50 bu HRW wheat.
