Subject: RE: sprouted wheat

E.C. MI
My white wheat is sprouted too, I doubt 80%, but I'd say 25%. At what point is the red gonna sprout?, I didn't see any this afternoon, but it's rained for what, 6 straight days, at least 2 of been pretty much all day soakers, nights with heavey dews/fogs and now they are talking chances of rain each day this week. If I was in Ohio, or other places local to the MI markets, that have unsold wheat in the bin, I'd think I would put the locks on, esp. if it was white...should be some huge premiums for good quality wheat I'd think. Even if our red doesn't sprout, I have to believe our testweights in this area are going to be pathetic. Up till last week I was disappointed with myself that I decided last fall not to put much wheat in, now I'm kinda glad I didn't. Still hoping my red will turn out well.
