Elevator discounts don't have much to do with the insurance anymore. We found it was very possible to have durum that the elevators didn't really even want as feed, and the crop insurance wouldn't pay anything because they didn't rate it high enough damage. Was common that fall to have grain with not a single sound kernel in it to be graded just 10 or 15% damage.

That said, 80% sprouted shouldn't be a big problem. Just don't confuse what the elevator is paying with what crop insurance will pay.
