That is a damn good idea, one I hadn't thought of.

I too bought a tractor 400miles away this spring. Drove down to look at it in the F350, drove home and called around for trucking pricing. Told them all it was a cheap takes priority over schedule, so I could wait a bit for them to find a reason to be in the neighborhood. 2 weeks later I had my 260hp tractor hauled for $600 USD.

I have everything from goosenecks to lowboys(street legal, DOT approved and I still hired it done. I don't have that kind of time do drive it nor could I have hauled it myself for that cheap.

Also don't trust a new-to-me tractor for a road trip.

To top it off this tractor runs 33mph on newer rubber.
