I agreed with your post until the "vastly underpaid" part. How then do you explain the airport hanger sized air conditioned machine sheds Successful Farming magazine features? Or the row of $300,000 to $750,000 dollar farm houses I drive by every day. Or the rows of $50,000 dollar pickups sitting in front of the two machinery stores in town. Some farmers are extremely well paid and some are not. To generalize and put all farmers in one income bracket is inaccurate whining. By the way, we are in the lower income group.
Landowners are overpaid in this country, not necessarily farmers, because all the phony government money thrown at ag passes right through to them. See someone else’s post today about their landladys in their Lincolns.
