NW Washington | I used have a problem getting carrots to germinate and grow too. You need to plant them shallow and then try to keep the soil moist till they come up. An old fellow once told me to cover the seed row with a board until the carrots sprouted, but I never gave that a try. I was always puzzled how Grimmway Farms in California could grow thousands of acre of carrots and I had trouble with a row of them in the garden.
