NW Indiana | We know there is going to be a payment. Basing off production before the crop supply is basically established is insane, honestly the WTO would go nuts. That is market distortion at its finest. Instead of 6 million acres of pp corn we would be looking at 90+ million acres of soybeans. How big of payment do you want in 2020 and beyond? Can you say $6 beans???
Also production is picking winners and losers. What about the drought areas that miss the rains but HPO is $2 lower then it should be? Or the areas that can't get the crop in but the spring price is $2 lower then it should be???
I wasn't intending this to be a discussion of IF we should get a payment, just trying to get us to brainstorm a FAIR way. This crap needs addressed fast. $6 beans come fall and knowing we can plant 100 million acres of corn next year =farm crisis
