Last year as a farmer, we were a little blindsided after planting with the China trade fight.
This year all the cards have been on the table for quite a while before planting. No excuse for a producer not to plant beans or to hedge expected production.
I didn't plant a bean this year for myself. All corn. Market has for sure been screaming at me it doesn't want beans...….
Really? We were told the trade dispute would be solved by January, then march, then april, then early may........how do you market when seasonals are destroyed? Not all of us put unpriced grain in bins and pray. |
