central iowa | Hey, big agco fan here, but steering valve issues on these tractors is not rare at all. I know of 3 in my little corner of the world that all have given issues of a similar nature, to random working, to not working at all. Their first valve put on these tractors seems mediocre at best, and I chose to not reward them with me trying their new one at my expense.
I agree I would start with the wheel angle sensor cal to start. Then your dealer will probably want to change out the wheel angle sensor when it will "show:" not working, then once it is replaced (roughly $900 with labor) and still acting up they will want to change out the steering valve to the updated one. I have one customer who chose to do this and so far has been working well. I and another customer added the agleader valve (roughly the same cost as changing out the factory one) and now if there is a issue (hasn't been yet) at least it is all on ag leader, no dealer pointing to ag leader and ag leader pointing to dealer.........
Good luck
No doubt the factory valve is a nicer/cleaner install, but should you find out yours is the issue at least know for about the same money you have a non factory option, that is pretty simple to install. | |
