N. IL | Our local crews run by teachers cannot get kids to show up. Between vacations, fairs, and football practice, most families don't prioritize detassling.
The work needs to be done. Unfortunately, the parents must usually get the younger kids to work at 5 am. They don't always have the time or motivation.
I've done it plenty as a kid and parent. The work needs to get done, the weather and pollination doesn't always align with kids' summer schedules. | |
