The switch to migrants only for detassling happened waaaay back in about 1996 when Wensman seed company was the grower/processor/retailer for Ciba...which turned into Novartis...which turned into Wensman on their own...which turned into AgReliant.
One of the local family owned seed companies here uses migrants only also...I would too if I had a couple thousand acres of seed corn acres to cover in about two weeks. |
