I own a 9380 tractor and a 40 foot air seeder which I am selling the seeder as my brother and I bought a different one together. Now we plan to pull it with my tractor which in my mind makes the outfit 75% mine as I own the tractor and 50% of the drill. I worka full time job in town and we figured labor would be the compromise as he would obviously put more in but I'm getting to the point where I don't want two full time jobs anymore.
So how do I make it fair to pull across his acres and mine with equal labor? I tried explaining this but it ended in an argument so I let it go. I obviously don't think it's fair to me to have all the expense of the tractor and have the value depreciated with the extra hours. Anyone have a situation like this and what's worked for you?
Maybe sell him your half of the drill, then you reach own half. But not half of two things. |
