I know a lady who had a surgical procedure done. They implanted wires under her tongue and there is a control somewhere near her shoulder. She turns it on with a remote at bedtime and the electrical impulse keeps her tongue contracted and out of her airway. I think I understand it correctly. She had it done about 2 years ago and sleeps well at night.
I believe you are referring to Inspire sleep therapy. I had a bad experience with c-pap and checked into that this past winter. Sleep doc said I didn't meet their criteria because I was too fat! Ended up with a b-pap machine but having a lot of leakage issues with masks. https://www.inspiresleep.com/what-is-inspire-therapy/how-inspire-the... |
